In this project the task was portraying the “Andreas Züst Library”. Thus, making the main topic — books. Our class spent three days in Appenzell Switzerland, gathering material consisting of ten books, drawings of the covers and choosing one picture in each book. Using the material collected by our class comrades each person made a book. This task included turning many different, but nevertheless similar materials, into a unified book.

In my book I created a concept using the pun “Encounter–ings”. The viewer encounters the book itself. At the same time in the book Encounterings continuously take place; in the interviews, formation of the pictures, texts encountering pictures and so forth. The layout of the images happens by optic similarities — the closer they are optically, the closer they are aligned. The constantly changing alignment of pictures and text will make you want to look through the entirety of the pages — here is a glimpse of my favourites.

In diesem Projekt war es die Aufgabe, die "Andreas Züst Bibliothek" in Appenzell (CH) zu porträtieren – eine riesige Büchersammlung. Unsere Klasse verbrachte dort drei Tage und sammelte Material, bestehend aus zehn Büchern, Zeichnungen der Einbände und der Auswahl eines Bildes in jedem Buch. Mit dem von unseren Klassenkameraden gesammelten Material stellte jeder ein Buchlayout her.

In meinem Buch habe ich ein Konzept mit dem Wortspiel "Begegnungen", in English «Encounterings», erstellt. Der Betrachter begegnet dem Buch, im Buch begegnen sich die Personen in den Interviews oder die Bilder treffen aufeinander. Die Anordnung der Bilder geschieht durch optische Ähnlichkeiten –je näher sie optisch beieinander liegen, desto näher sind sie aneinander ausgerichtet. Die ständig wechselnde Anordnung von Bildern und Texten macht Lust auf das Durchblättern der gesamten Seiten – hier gebe ich einen Einblick in mein Buch.

Dans ce projet, la tâche consistait à représenter la "Bibliothèque Andreas Züst". Ainsi, le sujet principal était les livres. Notre classe a passé trois jours à Appenzell dans cette bibliothèque, pour rassembler du matériel : dix livres, des dessins des couvertures et le choix d'une image dans chaque livre. En utilisant le matériel collecté par nos camarades de classe, chaque personne a fabriqué un livre. Cette tâche consistait à transformer de nombreux matériaux différents, mais néanmoins similaires, en un livre unifié.

Dans mon livre, j'ai créé un concept en utilisant le jeu de mots "encounter-ings" qui se traduit par la « rencontre ». Le spectateur rencontre le livre lui-même. En même temps, des rencontres ont lieu en permanence dans le livre - dans les interviews, la formation des images, les textes qui rencontrent les images et cætera. La disposition des images se fait par similitude optique - plus elles sont proches optiquement, plus elles sont alignées. L'alignement constamment changeant des images et du texte vous donnera envie de parcourir l'ensemble des pages – maintenant vous pouvez rencontres mes pages favorites…
